Lacey Police Investigating Theft Of Catalytic Converter

The converter and the damage done to the vehicle is estimated at $2,000, police chief says

LACEY TOWNSHIP, NJ - Lacey police are investigating the theft of a catalytic converter that was cut out of a 2008 Ford recently and removed, Police Chief Michael C. DiBella said.

Officer Brian Holt responded to Lacey Self Storage, located at 703 Old Shore Road in Forked River at 10:47 a.m. on Dec. 8 on a theft report. The victim told police that sometime between Nov. 28 and Dec. 8, someone took the converter from the vehicle, which was parked on the property and covered, the chief said.

The catalytic converter and the damage caused by its removal is estimated at $2,000, DiBella said.
