Mill Pond Drama a 'Great Success'
Drama Club students learned valuable life lessons from participating in this year's performance of "Cinderella," director says
The Mill Pond Drama Club recently put on three performances of the classic story, “Cinderella.”
“Thanks to the aide of some very special volunteers and talented students, our play was a great success,” said Drama Club Director Patricia DiSabato. “I surrounded myself with some very hard working people who all shared the same goal—to include as many students as we possibly could and allow them to take ownership of this play, exercise their creativity and make the play their own.”
The Publicity Committee created the program cover and publicity posters while the set designs were drawn and painted by the Set Design Committee, she said. Students were chosen from those two groups to create the Stage Crew.

“It honestly brings tears to my eyes to see such incredible talent and dedication at such a young age,” DiSabato said.
Auditions for the school drama were held in November and rehearsals began twice a week after Christmas break. In April, they were held three times a week.

“These kids were totally devoted to this endeavor from day one and their parents should be very, very proud of their commitment,” she said.
The students learned valuable life lessons since they began preparing for the drama performance—hard work and dedication, pride from a job well done, learning how to work with different kinds of people and learning how to work as a team to achieve a common goal, she said.
DiSabato thanked the following contributors: Director Rachael Bowen; Francesca Ferrara and Sandy Jones, who were in charge of costumes and set design; Meagan Bambo and Jason Butow, who volunteered their time to assist with the dancers and musical arrangements.
“In life, success in achieving anything is guaranteed when you have good people in your corner,” DiSabato said.
