A Forked River family needs financial help after a car struck their house early Saturday morning.

LACEY, NJ — A Forked River family needs financial help after a car struck their house early Saturday morning.
The Melega family was asleep in their home at 702 Beach Blvd when the crash happened. No residents in the home were injured, authorities said.
Police responded to the crash at 8:19 a.m. Nicole Dalconzo, 21, of Jackson, veered off the road and hit the side of the house, causing serious damage, police said.

Dalconzo was taken to Jersey Shore Medical Center and had to undergo immediate surgery for her injuries, according to police.
Krystal Melega expressed her family's grief on Facebook, adding that any financial help will help the family offset mounting costs.

“The wall myself, husband and son were sleeping on was where she made impact. We are lucky to be alive,” Melega said. "Our home is a complete loss, along with majority of our belongings...Financial help would alleviate a lot of stress and concern we have for the long road ahead of us, helping us get necessities, care for our pets, immediate bills, gas to get back and forth from a rental and now condemned home.”
