Siren Tests At Oyster Creek Nuclear Plant Go Off Without A Hitch

All of the 42 sirens operated without any problems, plant spokeswoman says

LACEY TOWNSHIP, NJ - All 42 of the emergency sirens within the 10-mile radius of the Oyster Creek Nuclear Plant operated as planned during yesterday's semi-annual siren tests, an Exelon spokesperson said.

"100 percent," spokesperson Suzanne D'Ambrosio said.

Exelon Generation, the plant's owner, conducts the full-volume tests of the emergency sirens in June and December of each year.

"The sirens are not a signal to evacuate, but a warning to tune to a local Emergency Alert Broadcast television or radio station," D'Ambrosio has said.
