Two Facing Heroin Charges After Surveillance: Lacey Police Chief

Arrests came after surveillance on a Lake Barnegat Drive home, police chief says

LACEY TOWNSHIP, NJ - Lacey police recently arrested a Forked River man and a Lakewood man and charged them with possession of heroin after conducting surveillance of a Lake Barnegat Drive home, Police Chief Michael C. DiBella said.

Detectives arrested Kevin Alvarez, 25, Kingston Court, Lakewood and Lee Collins, 34, Lake Barnegat Drive, Forked River at 2:30 p.m. on Sept. 29, the chief said.

Alvarez was charged with both distribution and possession of heroin. He also had an outstanding child support warrant out of the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department. Collins was charged with possession of heroin. He also had an outstanding $500 shoplifting warrant out of Lacey and a $1,058 Robbinsville warrant for failure to make lawful disposition of a controlled dangerous substance, DiBella said.

Both men were taken to the Ocean County Jail in Toms River to await bail hearings, the chief said.
