Dress for Success Central NJ Expands with New Office in Middlesex County

Women in New Brunswick now have greater access to career development services and professional attire to achieve economic empowerment.

Dress for Success Central New Jersey (DFSCNJ) is proud to announce the official opening of its first fully operational office and boutique in Middlesex County. The new location, at 109 Church Street in New Brunswick, will serve women in Middlesex County by offering critical career development programs—including résumé writing, interview preparation, and professional skills workshops—along with providing the attire needed to obtain and sustain employment.

DFSCNJ CEO and Middlesex Office Founder, Melissa Tenzer, who spearheaded the expansion, expressed her excitement about bringing these services closer to women in Middlesex County. “I am so thrilled to bring our much-needed programs directly to Middlesex County,” said Tenzer. “Since expanding the Dress for Success footprint from Mercer County to Central NJ, it has been our vision to make our services more accessible to women beyond our headquarters. Our purpose is to ignite confidence and create an environment where women can thrive in both work and life. With this new office, we now have the ability to serve hundreds more women each year.”

The Middlesex office will be led by Tenzer, alongside Chief Development Officer Lauren Nazarian and Community & Engagement Director Nancy Musco.

In addition to professional styling and one-on-one career coaching, the new location will host workshops on effective communication, personal branding, financial wellness, and more. Women at all stages of their career journey—whether seeking employment or advancing in their current role—will have access to comprehensive support in both their personal and professional development.

To celebrate DFSCNJ’s arrival into Middlesex County, the organization will hold Fashion for a Cause on September 17th at the Zimmerli Art Museum at Rutgers University. This inspiring fundraiser will feature DFSCNJ clients walking the runway in stylish ensembles that reflect not only fashion, but also their confidence and empowerment. A fashion consultant from Macy’s has generously volunteered to curate the looks, while beauticians from Innovate Salon Academy and Ulta Beauty will donate their talent to provide hair and makeup services for the models.

Fashion for a Cause will bring together community supporters, local partners, and advocates of women’s empowerment for an evening of style, purpose, and impact.

“Having a Dress for Success location right on Church Street in New Brunswick is a great addition to the town,” said Lina Llona, President of the Middlesex County Regional Chamber of Commerce. “With such easy public transportation access, this site will provide even greater opportunities for women to access employment skills and services. It’s a win for the women and a win for the community.”
