Lawrence BOE Reaches Tentative Settlement With Teachers
Members of the Lawrence Township Education Association still must ratify the new three-year contract.

Editor's Note: The following is a news release that was issued by Lawrence Township Public Schools.
Lasting long into the morning, a marathon bargaining session of the Lawrence Township Education Association (LTEA) and the Lawrence Board of Education negotiations team produced a tentative settlement.
The Jan. 26 session was the two groups’ first meeting after agreeing at their last meeting to move to mediation.

Specifics of the contract are not available at this time.
The next steps are for the LTEA to ratify the three-year contract and for the Board of Education to approve the agreement.

Representatives of both bargaining parties confirmed the good faith evident all the way through the process.
LTEA Co-Presidents Barbara Levine and Jeff Berry related, “We approached the process with an optimistic spirit and worked cooperatively throughout to achieve a fair and equitable settlement.”
Board President Laura Waters concurred. “We’re delighted to resolve these contractual issues in a way that benefits our entire community.”
