Lawrence Scouts Visit Camp No-Be-Bo-Sco

Boy scouts from Lawrence Township Troop 28 last month explored the camp at the base of the Kittatinny Ridge in northern New Jersey.

Editor's Note: The following is a news release issued by Lawrence Township Boy Scout Troop 28.

Nestled at the base of the Kittatinny Ridge in northern New Jersey, beautiful and rustic Camp No-Be-Bo-Sco was explored by nine Boy Scouts from Troop 28 in Lawrence and two visiting Webelos at a cabin campout the weekend of Feb. 17, 2012.

The camp, located in Hardwick, N.J., and founded in 1927, is dotted with log cabins and is one of the launching points on the Appalachian Trail. From the 380-acre camp, boy scouts can access the famous north-south trail, and the Delaware Water Gap Recreation Area is just a few miles away.

The troop stayed in lakeside Price Lodge, where the waters practically nipped at their door. “Our cabin was right next to the lake, which was very big and good enough for fishing,” explained Scout Kyle Jorgenson, 12.

In addition to outdoor cooking and exploration, the Troop embarked on a challenging hike to become familiar with the terrain. Troop 28 will hosts its annual summer camp excursion at No-Be-Bo-Sco this year and is looking forward to further exploration. New members are welcome!
