LTEF Continues to Support Lawrence Twp. Schools

Editor's Note: The following is a news release issued by the Lawrence Township Education Fundation regarding the  grant presentation that took place at the Jan. 9 school board meeting.

The (LTEF) has awarded $60,241 to Lawrence Township Public Schools to fund two innovative programs.

Through a LTEF grant of $30,971,  a state-of-the-art robotics program and club will be launched next fall at Lawrence High School within the Academy of Science and Technology.  In addition, a new Robotics and Programming course will be developed to allow students to explore different fields and careers in information technology and engineering. 

The second grant awarded last month will provide funding to equip each of the seven schools with video cameras and editing software to capture the great activities happening in each school.  The project is intended to provide hands-on experience to the students in the recording, editing, and broadcasting of video clips during the morning announcements and within the school environment. 

These grants, as well as all other grants awarded to the public schools, are made possible by the generosity of the donors who contribute to LTEF. 

The Lawrence Township Education Foundation is a nonprofit organization that fosters educational excellence, creativity and achievement in the Lawrence Township Public Schools. Since 1992, it has funded over 450 programs in the Lawrence schools with grants in excess of $2.3 million.
