Mercer Co. Police Officer Hospitalized In Rt. 130 Hit-And-Run: Police

A 52-year-old woman was charged in the hit-and-run crash that hit the officer, as well as the disabled vehicle he was rendering aid to.

ROBBINSVILLE, NJ - A Mercer County police officer was hospitalized Saturday after a hit-and-run crash that hit him, as well as the disabled vehicle he was rendering aid to, on Route 130, authorities said.

At around 11:30 p.m. on Saturday, Patrolman Connor Boyle, 25, was assisting a disabled vehicle on Route 130 southbound near mile marker 66.1 when a 2020 Volkswagen Passat traveling south struck the patrol car and officer, as well as the disabled vehicle, before continuing to travel south on Route 130, Robbinsville police said in a statement.

“The driver of this vehicle did not stop to render aid or to report the crash,” police said.

Boyle had emergency lights activated on his market Dodge Charger patrol car, police said.

Boyle was able to radio for assistance and was transported by Robbinsville EMS to Capital Health Regional Medical Center for treatment where he remains in stable condition.

A suspect vehicle was later located by Robbinsville police at an East Windsor residence. The driver, Rachel Glatt, 52, of East Windsor, was charged with second degree aggravated assault on a police officer and fourth degree assault by auto as well as various reckless driving and hit-and-run charges.

Glatt was transported to Mercer County Correctional Facility. It’s unclear whether she will be lodged there pending a court appearance.
