Obituary: Bertha Howell Bunting, 98

Born in Lawrence Township, she was one of nine children of Edward J. Evans and Fanny Reed Evans.

Bertha Howell Bunting died peacefully on Jan. 19, at her home in Yardley, Pa.

Born on May 30, 1913, in Lawrence Township, N.J., she was one of the nine children of Edward J. Evans and Fanny Reed Evans. Bertha was the last surviving sibling, having been predeceased by T. Richard, Sarah, William, Hannah, Mildred, Laura, Florence and Edith.

She was the loving wife of the late Charles W. Bunting.

Bertha is survived by her beloved sons, Charles A. Bunting and his wife Frances of Millsboro, Del., and Albert W. Bunting and his wife, Patricia, of Lower Makefield, Pa.

She is also survived by her adored and adoring grandchildren, Elizabeth B. Arnholt (David), John M. Bunting (Kelly), A. William Bunting (Beth Ann), Charles F. Bunting, and Jennifer E. Nicholson (Scott). Bertha was also the proud “Gigi” of Jack, Tyler, Evan, James, Charlie, Zachary and Annalyse.

Bertha enjoyed a large extended family of nieces, nephews, great nieces, nephews, etc. She leaves with them many wonderful stories and memories.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Christina Leighton, her caregiver these past few years who treated her with kindness and respect, and also to Marie and Steve Harrison, her wonderful neighbors.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Jan. 24, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. David D. Prince, pastor, officiating at the Wilson-Apple Funeral Home, 2560 Pennington Rd., Pennington.

Friends may call Monday, Jan. 23, from 6 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in Ewing Church Cemetery, Ewing.
