Troop 28 Celebrates Three New Eagle Scouts

Lawrence Township Boy Scout Troop 28 members Ryan Smith, Eliot Nagele, Ryan Smith and Alan Takasugi were awarded the Eagle Scout rank during a ceremony held at Lawrence High School on Jan. 13.

A special ceremony was held at on Friday, Jan. 13, to recognize three young men from Lawrence Township Boy Scout Troop 28 for attaining the rank of Eagle Scout.

Headquartered at , Troop 28 is part of the Central Jersey Boy Scout Council.

Eliot Nagele, Ryan Smith and Alan Takasugi were awarded the Eagle Scout rank at a candlelight celebration conducted at the high school by their fellow scouts.

Among the officials who attended the ceremony were Mercer County Executive Brian Hughes and Mercer County Board of Chosen Freeholders Chair Pat Colavita.

The Eagle Scout rank is the highest recognition that scouting offers to scouts, and it is estimated that only about 2 percent of boys who begin scouting receive this honor.

Troop 28, established in 1919, has produced 64 Eagle Scouts over the years.

The award is the culmination of many years of dedicated effort, and is a demonstration of a scout’s sense of leadership, citizenship and responsibility.
