Sloan’s injuries were minor in nature and included a laceration to his head, officials at the scene said. He was treated by the ambulance crew at the scene, and he declined transport to the hospital, Schenck said.
He said Officer Marc Poveromo investigated the accident and issued Sloan a ticket for careless driving.
The other vehicle that was hit by Sloan’s Chevrolet sustained minimal damage and its driver was not hurt, according to Schenck.
Southbound traffic was detoured off Quakerbridge Road onto Lawrence Square Boulevard and Quakerbridge Road’s northbound traffic was rerouted into the southbound lanes to bypass the accident scene for about 45 minutes while police investigated the crash and a tow truck operator removed the wreckage.
