13 Graduate From Marlboro Township Police Youth Academy

MARLBORO, NJ — The 2024 graduates of the Marlboro Township Police Youth Academy were honored in a ceremony held Friday night at Marlboro Middle School.

Starting at 6 p.m., the ceremony featured a welcome from Youth Academy Director Timothy Snyder and words from Chief Peter Pezzullo, who was the keynote speaker.

Marlboro Councilman Juned Qazi was also in attendance, Marlboro Police Captain Stephen Levy said

Throughout the program’s two-week run, academy students got to “experience life as a police academy recruit” and have been subject to drill and ceremony, physical training, classroom presentations and live demonstrations, according to Levy.

“They received instruction on everything from the State Police Bomb Squad, to witnessing a medivac helicopter landing, to forensic dentistry and have even become CPR certified,” Levy said.

In addition to their training, Levy said Youth Academy students also took field trips to Newark Airport to get behind-the-scenes looks from Port Authority officers and firemen, and visited the Monmouth County Courthouse to see how the criminal justice system functions beyond the realm of law enforcement.
