Asher Holmes in Top 20 for Standardized Testing Scores

Asher Holmes Elementary School in Marlboro Township ranks in the top 20 with its NJ ASK scores, according to SchoolDigger.com.

The site ranked New Jersey schools based on language arts literacy and math standardized testing scores. Asher Holmes is in 15th place among 1,254 elementary schools ranked, with a combined average score of 186.4.

The school rose 214 spots on the list when compared to its 2010-2011 school year.

• Marlboro Elementary School ranked 73 with a combined average score of 181.1. The school moved up 36 spots compared to the 2010-11 school year.
• Frank Defino Central Elementary School ranked 109 with a combined average score of 177.6. The school moved up 59 spots compared to the 2010-11 school year.
• Robertsville Elementary School ranked 241 with a combined average score of 169.8. The school moved up 148 spots compared to the 2010-11 school year.
• Frank J. Dugan Elementary School ranked 328 with a combined average score of 165.4. The school moved up 41 spots compared to the 2010-11 school year.

The NJ ASK is taken at the third and fourth grade levels. Scores for each grade have been combined to rank elementary schools in New Jersey.

NJ ASK at the middle schoo level combined seventh and eighth grade levels. Both of Marlboro Township's middle schools ranked within the top 150.

• Marlboro Memorial Middle School ranked 87 with a combined average score of 174. The school moved up 45 spots compared to the 2010-11 school year.
• Marlboro Middle School ranked 122 with a combined average score of 169.4. The school moved down 17 spots compared to the 2010-11 school year.
