Bucks Mill Park was filled with history and thrills Sunday, as families gathered for the first-ever Colts Neck Halloween Festival.
Sponsored by the Colts Neck Historic Preservation Committee, visitors were surrounded by superheroes, animals and even World War II historical figures. But for those who wanted to avoid the zombie apocalypse and stick to the history side of the event, residents had two chances to watch Philadelphia actor Bob Gleason, perform some of Edgar Allen Poe’s most famous works at the newly renovated Montrose School House.
“Gleason is quite the performer, he gave people goose bumps and the Montrose School House was the perfect setting.” said Freeholder Lillian Berry, Colts Neck resident and Committee member.
The next event hosted by the Colts Neck Historic Preservation Committee will be a debate at Cedar Drive School between Thomas Jefferson and Alexander Hamilton.
