Fr. Tom Triggs told parishioners of the church that Fugee had always been supervised, however The Star Ledger reports there was evidence of Fugee hearing private confessions while on retreat.

The Ledger most recently reported Fugee has resigned his position, which Triggs said was an unofficial position, and will remain a priest but will not be able to say Mass or perform sacraments. This was confirmed by the Archdiocese of Newark.
