George Kaschak, St. Mary's Member and Veteran, Dies at 89

George was employed for over twenty-five years as a Physicist and an Electronic Engineer for the United States Government/NASA.

George R. Kaschak, Sr., 89, died on Friday, May 3, 2013 at the CentraState Medical Center in Freehold.

Born in Manville, son of the late John and Bertha (Zujkowski) Kaschak, he lived in Red Bank prior to moving to Colts Neck in 1964.

George was honorably discharged from the United States Navy after faithfully serving his country during WWII. A Proud Alumni of Kansas State University where he earned his Master's degree, George was employed for over twenty-five years as a Physicist and an Electronic Engineer for the United States Government/NASA. 

He was an active member of St. Mary's Church in Colts Neck and belonged to their Swat Team and Romeo's Group. He loved spending time outdoors hiking and was an avid gardener and animal lover. His favorite hobby was spent online as a day trader.

Besides his parents, he is predeceased by his wife Ruth E. (Ortega) Kaschak who passed away August 17, 2001 and by his siblings; Edward Kaschak and Dottie Zambo.

George leaves behind his loving children; George R. Kaschak, Jr. and Karen Kaschak both of Colts Neck and by many dear nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be held at Fucillo & Warren Funeral Home, 205 South Main Street, Manville, NJ 08835 on Tuesday, May 7, 2013 from 4-8 pm and on Wednesday, May 8, 2013 from 8-8:30 am.

Funeral services will begin 8:30 am on Wednesday, May 8, 2013 in the funeral home followed by a 9:00 am funeral liturgy at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Manville. George will be laid to rest beside his wife at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Hillsborough.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked donations be sent to the RAINE Foundation, 17 Racoon Drive, Hazlet, NJ 07730. These donations will help aide children and families who have been affected by Hurricane Sandy.
