Marlboro Backyard Boat Fire Under Investigation, Officials Say
Marlboro Township fire officials are investigating a backyard fire that fully engulfed a boat Sunday night, authorities said.
MARLBORO, NJ - Marlboro Township fire officials are investigating a backyard fire that fully engulfed a boat Sunday night, authorities said.
At approximately 3:20 a.m. on Sunday, the Morganville Fire Department was dispatched for an unknown type fire in the rear of a residence.
At the scene, Marlboro police found that a 35-foot boat on stands was fully engulfed in flames in the residence’s backyard.

“Both chiefs and pumper tanker 395 arrived and extinguished the fire,” the Morganville Fire Department said in a statement. It was not immediately clear how long it took to douse the blaze or where in town the fire occurred.
The Marlboro Township Fire Bureau is handling the investigation.

A request for comment from the Morganville Fire Department was not immediately returned Monday morning.
