Marlboro Elementary Outranks 40% of Peers in Student Growth

The peer group is made up of schools determined to have a similar demographic, including in special education.

Marlboro Elementary School outranked 40 percent of its peer group in student growth, according to the NJ Department of Education School Report Card.

Student growth is measured by the performance of students on standardized tests from one year to the next. Marlboro Elementary outperformed 40 percent of its peer group and 50 percent of the state.

The state categorizes anything above the 80th percentile "very high performance." Marlboro falls within "average performance" in student growth.

The school outranked 94 percent of its peers in college and career readiness, and 95 percent of the state.

College and career readiness, which is measured on the elementary level by chronic absenteeism. 

Marlboro has two percent chronic absenteeism, below the state's six percent maximum.

The elementary school, which has 106 students with disabilities, outperformed 55 percent of its peer group in academic achievement and 85 percent of the state, also met its No Child Left Behind requirements.

In Monmouth County, Marlboro Elementary's peer group is made up of Indian Hill in Holmdel, Dugan Elementary, Middletown Village and Old Mill in Wall Township.
