Marlboro Township Fire Budgets Pass in All Three Districts

All budget proposals in Marlboro Township passed in its three fire districts, after the annual vote on Feb. 18.
Fire District 3 passed a $1.7 million budget for Morganville Independent and Morganville Volunteer, with $793,950 raised by taxes.
A contentious race for two commissioner seats in the district led to a victory of Robert Holmes and Joel Golub.

The assessed value is down two years in a row for taxpayers, making Fire District 1 the second lowest cost to taxpayers in Monmouth County. Taxpayer cost is .032 per $100.00, down from .033 last year.
Incumbent John Borden was elected for another term as commissioner in the district.
