Report Card: Cedar Drive Outperforms 81% of State in College Readiness

Cedar Drive Middle School in Colts Neck has outperformed most of the state on academic metrics, according to the NJ School Report Card released by the Department of Education.

The school outranks 81 percent of the state in college and career readiness, which in middle school is measured by the rate of chronic absenteeism and the amount of seventh and eighth graders enrolled in algebra.

Cedar Drive outperformed 57 percent of the schools in its peer group, which is made up of schools determined to have a similar demographic.

The school ranked 96 percent among its peers for its student enrollment in algebra.

In academic achievement, Cedar Drive outperformed 88 percent of the state and 35 percent of the schools in its peer group.

According to the NJDOE, academic achievement measures content knowledge in language arts and math as measured by NJASK scores. 

Cedar Drive outperformed 89 percent of state schools in student growth, and outperformed 82 percent of peer schools. Student growth is measured by the performance of students on standardized tests from one year to the next. 

In Monmouth County, Cedar Drive's peer group consisted of Deal Boro, Satz in Holmdel, Markham Place in Little Silver, Sea Girt Elementary and Wall Township.
