MORRIS TOWNSHIP, NJ—Jersey Central Power & Light is calling in reinforcements. The utility, which has been working to get power restored to customers in northern and central New Jersey, will bring in additional workers from non-affected areas to bolster local crews.

"An additional 1,300 workers will be arriving tomorrow, joining nearly 4,000 resources already engaged in the restoration effort," JCP&L said, in a statement. The company, which dispatched 1,800 additional workers earlier this week, said the new personnel will operate from one of five local staging sites, making it easier to keep more crews on the road.

Nearly 4,000 customers in Morris Township were still without electricity on Thursday, part of 82,000 Morris County outages.
