Morris Twp. Jump Rope Team Heads to AAU Jr. Olympics
Red Oaks School Lightning Bolts team to compete in Detroit.
Several kids from Morris Township are heading to Detroit next month for the AAU Junior Olympic Games.
The Red Oaks School Lightning Bolts Jump Rope Team made it past the AAU (Amateur Athletic Union) qualifying tournament and district championship in Ellicott City, Md., on May 11.
They participated in Speed, Power, Freestyle, Pairs, Relay, and Double Dutch events by age group, and performed a Junior Team Show. This AAU competition only awards the top eight competitors in each event. The Red Oaks jumpers placed high in all areas (taking 1st, 2nd and 3rd in most).

- Alexander Grayzel, 9 of Morris Township
- Jacob Grayzel, 12 of Morris Township
- Madeleine Levinsohn, 12 of Morris Township
- Meghan Feldman, 11 of Morristown
- Anabel Carroll, 11 of Chester
- Dylan Greifinger, 12 of Summit
“Our new jump rope coach Alexa DeRose has done a great job getting our kids focused and ready to compete. She will continue to coach our Bolts team through the summer up until the Junior Olympics," said Jeff Grayzel, Lightning Bolts team member parent and designated team judge.

“The Little Team That Could rocked it!" said another team parent, Christine St. Peter Levisohn.
The Red Oaks School, founded in 1965, is a fully accredited independent day school serving a population of students age 3 to grade 8.
