Spring Brook Country Club Proposes Upgrades this Week

Morris Twp. Planning Board
The Township of Morris Planning Board will meet on Monday at 7:30 p.m. in the Municipal Building.
One of the items on the agenda is the Spring Brook Country Club. They’re proposing an update to modernize the existing maintenance facilities on site, to build fueling/washing bays for the equipment and to implement an accessory use structure on a small portion of the property which will serve as administrative office and storage space.
Morris Plains Shade Tree
The Morris Plains Shade Tree Commission will meet on Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the . There is no meeting in August. At last month’s meeting, Chairman Lloyd Williams said the Commission is requesting a budget of $43,160, is the same as the 2012 budget.

Councilwoman Laurie Fu reminded Commission members that they needed to re-canvass their areas to check for storm damage and how damage may impact information they have collected so far. They also discussed necessary tasks the commission needs to do to meet grant requirements.

- 3 Greenwood Road – (1) 12”-24” (1) 24”-36” needs to be taken down.
- 39 Janeway Place – (1) 36”+ needs to be taken down.
- Corner of Wynwood Road and Briarcliff Road – Dubee said he needed to determine what work remains to be done at this intersection.
Morristown & Morris Township Library
Do you suffer from stress or tension? Do you experience unfocused thinking? Do you have clutter in your house, your office, your closet or even your car? Then head over to the Morristown & Morris Township Library on Monday at 10 a.m. Alissa Okrent provides participants with ways to decrease body tension, support for relationships and even basic principles for clearing clutter. Her presentation will allow participants to breathe easier, feel more relaxed and think with greater clarity. She has 25 years of experience as a fitness and wellness professional. This program is supported through funding from The Friends of the Morristown & Morris Township Library.
Also, stop by the library at 7 p.m. on Thursday for a 60- minute documentary film that examines the history, perceptions and evolution of the Indian-American community. The film begins by identifying and deconstructing the existing stereotypes surrounding the community, then showing a side of the South Asian community not often seen in the mainstream. Teju Prasad is an independent filmmaker. This is his second documentary film. This program is supported through funding from the Friends of the Morristown & Morristownship Library.
Desert Dance
Did you miss the Morristown High School’s 9th Annual Spring Dance and Music Production “Desert Dance” this past April? Here’s your chance to catch it again.
Twenty-two acts took the stage in April and will run again on Wednesday at 9 a.m. during the Academic Enrichment Period at Morristown High Theater. Student numbers include a wide range—Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Modern, Lyrical, Indian, Hip Hop, and a Traditional Thai dance performed by MHS’s Foreign Exchange Student Dream Piomekaksorn
