MORRISTOWN, NJ—The Morristown and Morris Township Library will host morning and evening yoga on the lawn this Friday.

"All ability levels, from beginner to advanced, are welcome," said an announcement made by the library, and no sign-up or reservation is necessary.

The classes are socially distant and anyone participating will be required to wear a mask to enter and exit the classes. Participants are asked to bring their own mat and equipment, as the library will not provide any.

According to the National Institute of Health (NIH), research indicates that yoga may help improve wellness, relieve stress, improve mental and emotional health, sleep, and balance. Yoga also may help relieve pain and manage anxiety, according to the NIH.

Classes are held Friday and Monday at 9:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. on the library's side lawn. The evening session will move to an earlier time this fall, when the lack of daylight requires.
