Morristown's Mayo Performing Arts Center Reopening
The Mayo Performing Arts Center will hold its first in-person concert since last spring in October
MORRISTOWN, NJ—After more than six months without holding a concert, the Mayo Performing Arts Center in Morristown is about to reopen, with a performance by local Jazz musicians Brynn Stanley, Grover Kemble and Jerry Vezza scheduled for Oct. 2 at 7:30 p.m.
"It's a first step in a long journey where we need to be," said MPAC General Manager Ed Kirchdoerffer. "It's big, psychologically, for Morristown to have its theater back, but we still have a long way to go before we're operating normally."
The performing arts center is permitted to seat 150 people—25 percent capacity—per Gov. Phil Murphy's executive order. Patrons who come together can sit together, but they will need to be six feet from other groups. Ticketholders can select their preferred seat, but the MPAC cannot guarantee the exact seating selected.

Temperature checks will be required, and masks are mandatory. All tickets must be printed at home to minimize passing items between people. The Starlight Lounge remains closed, and ushers will guide people to exits after the performance.
For those who aren't comfortable attending live, the Oct. 2 concert will also be available via livestream.
