The annual Nourish NJ Hunger Walk is virtual this year, with a few twists and surprises
MORRISTOWN, NJ—Nourish NJ, a community group in Morristown, launched its annual Hunger Walk this week, with an ambitious goal and virtual twist.
"The Hunger Walk is one of our biggest fundraisers of the year," said a statement from the group, "and this year, we need you more than ever. As a result of COVID-19, the demand for our services is up 30 percent."
Nourish NJ said the walk will be all-virtual this year, and participants can follow along with stories and guided tours narrated by members of Nourish NJ's staff. A digital story map will also showcase various locations throughout Morristown. Participants can access these features via an emailed link from Nourish NJ.

The nonprofit also connects clients with mental health and substance abuse counseling, holds job fairs, health screenings, and other services. The organization said it needs help, especially during the pandemic. They've set a high bar to reach.
"We need your support to help our struggling neighbors with food, employment help, and health and housing services," said the statement. "With your help, we’re confident we can reach our fundraising goal of $100,000."
