Update: Restore Pushed Back For Remaining Morris Outages

Morristown and Morris Township still account for one third of the county's remaining outages

MORRISTOWN, NJ—After receiving an estimated time of service restoration of 11:30 p.m. Monday, 19 Morristown and Morris Township customers will have to wait another night in the dark, as Jersey Central Power & Light has pushed that estimate back to tomorrow afternoon.

"Crews are addressing many localized issues and restoring individual customers," said a statement released by the utility. "This requires crews to travel to individual locations to restore about 2,800 JCP&L customers [statewide] who remain without power. This is the most time-consuming, labor intensive and complex part of service restoration."

Early Tuesday morning, Morristown reported nine outages and Morris Township had 10. The new estimated time for service to be restored to those customers is Tuesday at 3:30 p.m.
