Beloved Rooster At NJ Sanctuary Missing Since Tuesday, Owner Says
The beloved rooster who "thinks he's a kitten" might've fled in a visitor's car last week, sanctuary owners said.
HAMILTON, NJ - A beloved rooster at a New Jersey animal sanctuary has been missing since Tuesday, sanctuary owners said.
Squiggy, an orphaned rooster raised in a house with cats and dogs and “thinks he’s a kitten,” was last seen on Tuesday during a busy visiting day, Atlantic County-based Funny Farm Rescue wrote in a Facebook post Saturday.
“We do not think a predator got him as he hung out mostly by the stage area where there were lots of people,” the rescue wrote.

Instead, the owners are currently reviewing camera footage from the day Squiggy disappeared.
An $1,800 reward has been announced, with help from anonymous donors pitching in hundreds of dollars to help bring Squiggy home.

“Little kids and families came from all over the world to see him,” the rescue wrote. “They will all be so sad when they come here and he’s not here.”
As of Sunday night, the cat-like cockerel was still nowhere to be found.
“We think he may have accidentally got into someone’s car,” the sanctuary said in an update. “If he is safely returned, we will not press charges or ask any questions. We have many cameras around the farm and it will take some time to review all of the footage.”
Those with any information about Squiggy’s whereabouts are asked to call or text 609-742-9410.
