'Betson Connection' Moves to New Radio Station

Radio host Chuck Betson's shows Fridays on WOND-AM 1400 will be dedicated to Ocean City and Cape May County issues.

Chuck Betson, one of the region’s best-known sports reporters and commentators, brings his radio show to a new frequency this week.

The "Betson Connection" moves from WIBG-AM 1020 to WOND-AM 1400.

The show features sports coverage and commentary 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Mondays to Thursdays, and on Fridays in the same time slot, Betson will be joined by Ocean City Councilman Keith Hartzell for a weekly show dedicated to Ocean City and Cape May County issues.

Betson will be joined at 7 p.m. this week by the following guests:

  • Tuesday, May 22: Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports
  • Wednesday, May 23: Football writer and broadcaster Ray Didinger
  • Thursday, May 24: (Tentatively) sports team owner Pat Croce
  • Friday, May 25: State Sen. Jeff Van Drew

“Chuck Betson will bring WOND listeners the best of sports talk, as well as the most comprehensive coverage of Ocean City here in South Jersey,” Longport Media President Dave Coskey said in a news release. “The Betson Connection will combine live and local sports and entertainment in a program format that is both informative and interactive with the audience.”

Longport Media is a communications company formed in May 2011 and is owned and operated by investors from the Atlantic City and greater southern New Jersey area. Longport Media took control of radio stations WOND, WMGM, WTKU, WWAC and WBSS. The five stations are now programmed and broadcast live from Green Broadcast Plaza in Linwood, NJ.
