The Ocean City Board of Education recognized the top male and female scholars in grades 7 to 11 during Wednesday night's public meeting (the board had recognized the in the senior class at its last meeting).

  • Grade 7: Austin Fox and Phoebe Prettyman
  • Grade 8: Nicholas Eisele and Jordan Allegretto
  • Grade 9: Robert Phillips and BriarRose Ginn
  • Grade 10: John Kane and Maham Ahmad
  • Grade 11: D.J. Gilhooley and Kelly O'Connor

The board honored Teacher of the Year for (Christine Barnes, English) and (Trish LeFever, physical education).

The board thanked "retiring" student representatives on the Board of Education: Samantha Edgell and Lindsay Vetter.

The board also recognized Christine Geseking (Food Services) and Dorothy Dougherty (Speech/Language Specialist) upon their retirements.
