Joseph Edward Moser, 93, of Paramus died on Wednesday, December 5, 2012. 

Born April 22, 1919, Joseph was married to Rose Lebeda from 1950 until her death in 1960 with whom he had three children. Joseph then married Florence Zellner in 1960 until her passing in 2010. Since that time, he resided at Van Dyk Assisted Living in Hawthorne, and passed at Villa Marie Claire in Saddle River.

Joseph graduated from Holy Trinity High School in Hackensack in 1937 and went on to college. He assumed his Uncle’s butcher business in North Bergen in the early 1940’s until 1964 and then was employed by the Paramus Post Office until 1984. In his retirement, he started a l andscaping business and worked until he was 87 years old. He was a member of the Bergen Irish Society in Dumont for many years, one of the founding members of the Knights of Columbus in Rochelle Park in 1941 and a long time member of the Paramus Knights of Columbus.

He served on the Paramus Board of Education in the 1950’s; a parishioner at Our Lady of Visitation Church, a member of the OLV Holy Name Society and the Bridge Club of the Paramus Senior Center. On Election Day, November 6, 2012, he went to the polls in Hawthorne to vote in the Presidential election. His father, Joseph L. Moser, was a well known contractor who built many homes along Farview Avenue and Ardale Road in Paramus.

Joseph Edward Moser is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth Musso of Mahwah, son, Joseph Moser of River Vale and daughter, Catherine Malone of Paramus; grandchildren, Caitlin Christine, Joseph James, Andrea, Alainna, and Alyssa; three greatgrandchildren and brother Richard Musso of Denver.
