Authorities Arrest Four More After Fort Lee Man's Body Found In Trunk

Authorities have arrested four more individuals in connection to the murder and robbery of a Fort Lee man who was found dead in the trunk of his BMW after being reported kidnapped by his live-in girlfriend last month.

Robert R. Martinez, 26, of Worcester, MA, was arrested along with Courtney A. Evelyn, 30, of New York, Dyrol Evelyn, 25, of New York and Diana Escotto, 24, of New York, Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli said. Authorities previously arrested Andre Jamal Thompson, also known as “Boogie,” 25, of Fort Lee and Worcester, MA, Feb. 4 “on charges including felony murder for the homicide of Jordan Johnson.”

Jordan Johnson was reported kidnapped on Jan. 14 after his girlfriend arrived to the Fort Lee apartment they shared and discovered the apartment had been burglarized. Johnson’s body was found in the trunk of his car the next day in the Bronx.

According to Molinelli, the investigation alleges Thompson and Martinez lured the victim to an apartment Thompson sometimes utilized in Fort Lee, assaulted him, took his phone, keys and vehicle before ultimately killing him.

Johnson’s phone was also used to send text messages to his girlfriend to lure her from their apartment, Molinelli said. After she left, the apartment was burglarized and jewelry, cash and other items were stolen. Thompson and Matinez then fled the state within hours of the homicide.

Arrest warrants were also executed on Courtney Evelyn, Dyrol Evelyn (brother of Courtney) and Diana Escotto on Feb. 19 and the individuals were “criminally charged with hindering the apprehension of another as a result of their actions and evidence gathered in the case,” Molinelli said. The trio remain in the custody of the New York City Police Department awaiting transport to the custody of the New York City Department of Corrections, though the press release does not state their exact involvement in the case.

Martinez was charged with felony murder, robbery and burglary and hindering his own apprehension, according to Molinelli. His bail was set at $2,000,000 with no ten percent option. He is currently lodged in the Worcester County House of Corrections in Massachusetts as a fugitive from justice and is awaiting extradition to Bergen County.

Thompson was charged on Feb. 5 with felony murder, robbery and burglary and his bail was set at $2,000,000 with no ten percent.

The investigation is continuing at this time, Molinelli said.
