Bergen Drug Bust: Police Seize Narcotics In Production Lab, Cops Say

A duo was charged in connection with a drug manufacturing facility operated out of a local home, police said.

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — A jobless man and an employed babysitter stand accused of operating a drug production facility in Bergen County, according to authorities.

Branden Williams, 32; and Madalyn Ohanian, 23, were just arrested after a raid of Williams' Edgewater home on River Road, where a large amount of weed, hash, mushrooms and prescription pills were found, authorities said.

The pair was caught, specifically, with 25 pounds of marijuana, more than 25 pounds of hashish oil, psilocybin "magic" mushrooms, over 180 Adderall pills (stimulants), over 55 Xanax pills (depressants), and nearly $40,000, prosecutors said.

Police found the contraband last Tuesday along with packaging materials, and charged the two with maintaining the manufacturing facility, and with intent to distribute and/or possession of the narcotics. Williams was additionally charged with money laundering, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said.

Both were remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending an initial court appearance, Musella said.
