Dual Spartan Athlete Denied Bail Reduction by Judge
Former Paramus High School dual-sport athlete and incoming William Paterson University student, Tyler Garguilo, 19, remains in a West Virginia jail cell after a judge denied a bond reduction request Wednesday Sept. 6. The Paramus native has been charged with malicious wounding alongside several other young men after allegedly beating Matthew Tovar, 42, of Corpus Christi, Texas on August 22 outside of Morgantown, West Virginia bar.
Three Charged in Alleged Drug Bust in Chili's Parking LotThree New York men were arrested on drug charges outside Chili's Restaurant late Thursday Sept. 14 after a two-month investigation. A fourth suspect, Felix Pena, is still at large, authorities said.

Glen Peguero, 23, and Otoniel Mercedes, 25, both of Bronx, NY along with Terrell Ownens, 24 of New York City, were charged with resisting arrest and possession of marijuana with an intent to distribute, Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli said in a press release. All three men were remanded to the Bergen County Jail.

A statement released by Lt. John Scully of the police department Tuesday morning says video surveillance shows two suspects committing the crime and fleeing the scene by exiting through the rear of the building fleeing north through the rear yards of the adjacent residential homes. No description of the suspects was provided.
