Community Blood Services: Out for Blood...from Volunteers

The Paramus-based blood bank, Community Blood Services, is experiencing a shortage and is looking for donations. Every drop counts.

Community Blood Services, a Paramus blood bank, is reportedly experiencing a blood shortage. It can be a bit intimidating to give blood, but one former Patch Editor, Laura Silvius, did just that for the first time in July and wrote about the experience

Community serves 16 hospitals in New Jersey, including Bergen Regional Medical Center and Hackensack University Medical Center, and another six hospitals in New York.

According to northjersey.com, Karen Ferriday, a spokeswoman for the organization said, “There is an immediate need for all blood types.”
