Doors Drummer John Densmore Coming to Bergen
The rocker will give a free talk on selling out and his latest book about The Doors.
Bergen County residents who want to hear a rock n roll legend talk about how to not “sell out” are in luck. John Densmore, the drummer for The Doors, will be doing just that at Bergen Community College next month, the school announced in a release Monday.
Densmore will be the featured speaker at the college’s semiannual “distinguished artist series,” happening Tuesday, March 11 at the Anna Maria Ciccone Theatre on the school’s Paramus campus at 7:30 p.m.
According to the release, Densmore will be discussing his latest book, The Doors: Unhinged, which is described as “his personal account of the fight to prevent the group from over-commercialization and ‘selling out.’”

Rolling Stone described the book as the tale of a six-year battle Densmore had with fellow band mates, keyboardist Ray Manzarek and guitarist Robby Krieger, decades after lead singer Jim Morrison’s death.
Bergen music professor Andy Krikun will lead the discussion, which is free and open to the public.
