'Forty Under 40' Award Winner at Bergen Regional Medical Center

Katie Richardson of Bergen Regional Medical Center was recently notified that she’ll be receiving a special honor in October.
Richardson, Vice President and Administrator of BRMC’s Long Term Care Division, has been named a winner in the 2013 NJBIZ Forty Under 40 awards program.
The Forty Under 40 program honors men and women under the age of 40 who have been making headlines in their field. Richardson has done just that. BRMC is home to New Jersey’s largest licensed nursing home, with 574 beds.

Under Richardson’s guidance, the facility received the Joint Commission Accreditation making them one of only 6 percent of nursing homes nationwide to receive that status.
“I’m honored to receive this prestigious award from NJBIZ,” said Richardson. “I’m fortunate to work at a facility that is dedicated to creating a supportive environment where all patients, residents and staff are treated with dignity, caring and respect.”

Richardson is a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator, a member of the American College of Health Care Administrators; Second Vice President for the New Jersey Chapter, American College of Health Care Administrators; Certified Dementia Practitioner; Activity Director Certified; National Certification Council for Activity Professionals and a member of the Society of Licensed Nursing Home Administrators.
There will be an awards ceremony on Monday, Oct. 28 at The Palace at Somerset Park in Somerset.
