Knife-Wielding Man Threatens Apartment Building Employee In Bergen: PD
The accused was also seen holding a knife to a driver's neck while seated in the backseat, yelling at him to keep driving, police said.
BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — A knife-wielding man stands accused of threatening two people in Bergen County earlier this week, according to authorities.
Irvin Sams, 37, of Paterson, was allegedly seen in the back of a car holding a knife to a driver's neck yelling at him to keep driving, and shortly after, walking into an apartment building and threatening an employee, Fort Lee police Capt. Edward Young said.
Sams was seen in the car by a witness who was walking in the borough and later told police the driver had asked where the hospital was. The vehicle then drove away, prompting a police search, Young Said.

Soon afterward, police said, a call was received about an alleged altercation at the Horizon House security office at 5 Horizon Road, where a building employee was threatened.
The driver and employee are two separate people, Young confirmed.

Sams was identified as the actor responsible and arrested, the police captain said. He was charged with kidnapping, burglary, aggravated assault, possession of a weapon with an unlawful purpose, terroristic threats, and possession of a weapon.
He was then transferred to the custody of the Bergen County Sheriff's Department pending future court hearings, police said.
