Man Charged With Murder In Death Of Paramus Woman He Knew: Prosecutor

A 21-year-old Newark man has been charged with murder in the death of his "acquaintance," a 74-year-old Paramus woman, prosecutors say.

PARAMUS, NJ — A Newark man has been charged with murder after a woman was found dead in her Paramus home Monday, prosecutors said.

Kishan S. Sheth, 21, has been charged with first-degree felony murder, home invasion resulting in serious bodily injury, and other charges, the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office said Wednesday.

Prosecutors said that the Paramus police headed to a home on Monday shortly after 4 p.m. to conduct a wellness check and found Rita Acharya, 74, dead on her couch.
