Man Convicted Of Felony Murder In Bergen Co. Armed Robbery: Prosecutor
An "accomplice" to an armed robbery that left a Bergen Co. man dead was convicted of felony murder and other offenses, the prosecutor said.
BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — A man was convicted on crimes, including felony murder, that are linked to his involvement in a 2019 armed robbery that left another man dead, according to authorities.
David Martinez, 21, of North Bergen, was an "accomplice and co-conspirator" to a pre-planned armed robbery at the Fairview home of David Duque Soto on June 29, 2019, during which Soto was shot and killed, the state argued.
Following a four-week jury trial, Martinez was also convicted Monday of conspiracy to commit armed robbery and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, which he was charged with in July 2022, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said.
