Former Wayne Substitute Teacher Charged With Heroin Possession

A Wayne Valley High School substitute teacher has been fired after he was arrested and charged with heroin possession because State Police found $2,200 worth of the substance during a traffic stop April 5. Superintendent of Schools Mark Toback said district officials were made aware of the situation and that the substitute teacher no longer works for the district.

Parsippany Burger King Closing This Week To Make Room For Starbucks

Burger King in Parsippany will turn off its grills for the last time Sunday night, as the location shutters to make room for a Starbucks. An employee at the store confirmed to Patch that the Route 46 location was closing and said Sunday, April 30 would be the last day.

Sarah Crowley of Long Valley Passes Away After Cancer Battle

Sarah Rose Crowley, 15, of Long Valley, NJ passed away on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 after a courageous battle with cancer. Sarah was born on October 26, 2001 in Hackettstown, NJ. She has lived in Long Valley for the past 5 years and grew up in Hackettstown. Sarah was a freshman at West Morris Central High School.

Free Yoga Classes in Matawan This Summer

The Matawan Department of Recreation will be offering a free outdoor yoga class at Lake Lefferts every Saturday this summer. The classes will start Saturday, July 1 and run through Saturday, Aug. 26 and will be outdoors 8:30-9:45 a.m. The teachers from Matawan's Yoga Suite & Barre will be leading the series.
