New Restaurant Freakin' Puerto Rican Food Coming To Brick

Brick Township has a wide variety of restaurants, from diners and pizza places to Italian, Irish and more. Soon it will add another flavor to that mix, when a Puerto Rican restaurant opens in town. Freakin' Puerto Rican Food is planning to open its restaurant in The Shoppes at New Visions, the retail stores attached to the Residence Club — New Visions at Brick, the apartment and condominium complex behind the U.S. Post Office and near the Kohls/ShopRite shopping center in Brick.

Wegmans Is Coming To Middletown

The yet-to-be-built — and yet to be approved — Shoppes at Middletown just got a major anchor tenant: Wegmans. A spokesman for the National Realty Development Corp., which is developing The Shoppes at Middletown, announced to Patch on May 3 that a Wegmans will open in the complex. The Shoppes at Middletown, alternately called the Town Center and Village 35, would be located at Rt. 35 and Kings Highway. It will be next to Circus Wines, the liquor store that is there currently.

Stormy Weather In Long-Term N.J. Summer Forecast

Expect some bad weather during the summer season. Wet weather and severe storms will hold back extreme heat in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, according to AccuWeather. Unlike the summer of 2016, when drought conditions gripped the Northeast and mid-Atlantic, the summer will bring on-and-off wet weather to both states, according to an AccuWeather release.

Toms River Schools Hiring For 2017-18 School Year

The Toms River Regional School District has announced that it has job openings for the 2017-18 school year. Those openings include some full-time teaching positions, including a chemistry teacher, a health and physical education teacher, a math teacher and a Spanish/French teacher, and secretarial openings. Applications will be accepted through mid-May.

Duo Charged After Heroin, Crack Cocaine Found During Manchester Stop: Police

A Manchester Township man and a Lacey Township woman are facing multiple drug charges after heroin, cocaine, hypodermic syringes and other drug paraphernalia were found during a motor vehicle stop, police said. Dandre Tubbs, 29, of Birmingham Avenue, Manchester, and Sara McCanna, 23, of Beverly Road, Forked River, were arrested after being stopped on Route 530 by members of the Narcotics Enforcement Team.
