NY Man Caught Driving Stolen Florida Car In Bergen Co.: Prosecutor

He was pulled over after a police officer's automated plate reader alerted him to the stolen vehicle, a probable cause affidavit said.

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — A New York man was caught driving a stolen vehicle through Bergen County, according to authorities.

Wilbert Toussaint, 31, was identified Monday as the driver of a Honda CR-V reported stolen two weeks ago out of Clay County, Florida, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said.

Touissaint was pulled over off Interstate 80 in Lodi after a police officer's automated license plate reader alerted him to the suspected stolen vehicle, an affidavit said.

The Queens man was arrested without incident and charged with receiving stolen property. He was then released pending an initial court appearance, the prosecutor's office said.
