OSHA Fines Bergen Contractor for Hazards Found at Paramus Work Site
Ridgefield Park based company is said to have repeat violations on record.

A Bergen-based masonry contractor faces a hefty fine from the U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) for work it did at a Paramus site which was deemed a fall hazard.
F. Pardo Corp, of Ridgefield Park, has been cited with two repeat violations found while the company installed brickwork on a residential structure in Paramus, OSHA announced Wednesday in a statement. An OSHA investigation conducted in February was done because of imminent fall hazard.
F. Pardo Corp faces proposed penalties which total $46,200, OSHA reports.

According to the statement the repeat violations stem from employees being exposed to falling object hazards while working below masonry activities without wearing hard-hats. Employees were also exposed to a fall hazard of about 18 feet while working on a fabricated frame scaffold without means of fall protection in place, as per the statement.
The company had been cited for the same violations previously in 2010 and 2011, according to OSHA.
