Family Of Late Bergen Soldier Receives Outpouring Of Community Support
Survived by family, friends and his dog Scout, Sgt. David Solinas, Jr., will be missed by all who knew him, his obit said.

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — An outpouring of community support has followed the tragic death of fallen soldier Sgt. David Solinas, Jr.
As of Thursday, more than $52,000 has been raised for the Oradell family as they grieve the loss of Solinas who — Patch reported — died in a helicopter crash during a U.S. Army training exercise last week.
Earlier this week, the city of Oradell had asked residents and businesses to tie yellow ribbons to structures in remembrance of Solinas. Prior to that, a Meal Train was organized in which every date listed until the end of May was booked in only a matter of days.

"The Solinas family (is) very touched and beyond grateful for the support and love, and to see this Meal Train fill up so quickly," the organizer said.
Now as the family prepares to lay Solinas to rest, the late sergeant's brother Stephen has — on behalf of the family — asked for donations to a fund that "will commemorate (Solinas') life and honor him in a way that will allow him to continue to give back to his community."
