Paramus Catholic suffered their second loss of the season, and their second loss in as many weeks, at the hands of top-ranked St. Joseph Regional on Saturday.
The Paladins fell to Don Bosco in a heartbreaker last Friday. Unfortunately for Paramus Catholic, their match-up against St. Joes was never really contested.
Paladins quarterback Steve Shanley threw an interception early on that was returned for a touchdown early in the first quarter and the Green Knights never looked back.

The previously stout Paramus Catholic defense was unable to stop St. Joes’ running back Sherman Alston. Alston ran for 113 yards and a touchdown on his 30 carries.
The Paladins continued to struggle offensively. Shanley didn’t see many snaps at quarterback after the early turnover and Jabrill Peppers took a majority of the snaps while the Paladins were still in range. Peppers, and the other Paladins running backs, had to fight through a heap of St. Joes defenders for each and every yard.

Maxpreps.com has St. Joes ranked No. 1 in the state and No. 1 in the country after their win over Paramus Catholic. The Paladins were the No. 2 team in New Jersey but could drop out of the top 5 after Saturday’s loss.
