Paramus Board Hires New Guidance Counselor, HR Coordinator

New hires replace longtime employees who will enter retirement at the end of this school year.

Paramus Board of Education hired two new employees to take over roles being vacated by the retirement of two longtime staff members, the district reported this week.

The Board has appointed Andrea Saladino as the Supervisor of Guidance who will replace Mary Lou Baird who retires after 10 years of service to the district and 44 years in education.

Saladino comes to the district from East Brunswick Public Schools. She has been working in school counseling for 10 years. She holds a bachelor's degree and two masters degrees, one in student personnel services and another in educational adminstration.

Meredith Conway has been hired as the new Human Resources Coordinator replacing Ruth Polifrone who is retiring after more than 30 years in the district.

Conway comes to Paramus from the Chathams school district where she served as human resource assistant/benefit coordinator for the past five years. She began her human resources career in a corporate setting. Conway has a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in human resource management.

In a statement, the Board of Education expressed its "sincerest gratitude" to Baird and Polifrone for their years at the school and "lasting impact on the students and staff of Paramus."

Both Conway and Saladino will begin their new positions on Aug. 1.
