Paramus Catholic Holds onto No. 3 National Ranking

Paramus Catholic continues its march toward an undefeated season with their second win of the year.

The Paramus Catholic Paladins maintained their No. 3 national ranking, according to MaxPreps.com, with a 30-18 win over the Delbarton Green Wave on Saturday.

The Paladins made a pair of big plays that separated them in a win that makes them 2-0 on the season.

Junior wide receiver Najee Clayton got into the end zone on a 74-yard passing touchdown from senior quarterback Steve Shanley. The other game breaking play was an 80-yard run from Jabrill Peppers.

Peppers also contributed an interception on the defensive side of the ball.

Senior running back Keyon Washington was listed as the overall player of the game. Washington was the offensive workhorse for the Paladins as he racked up 97 yards on 17 carries. Washington also forced a safety in the fourth quarter.

Paramus Catholic will host DePaul, 1-0 and ranked 6 in New Jersey, on Saturday at 4 p.m.
